Sales Engineer Energy Storage

Are you passionate about renewable energy and technology? Do you have solid technical knowledge and can you communicate your ideas clearly and convincingly? For our rapidly growing department, specialized in energy storage systems, we are looking for a driven Sales Engineer who bridges the gap between innovative technology and the market.

About the position

As Sales Engineer, you are part of the sales team and work closely with three account managers. You are our product expert: you translate customer needs into technically appropriate solutions, advise convincingly and switch effortlessly between detailed discussions with engineers and strategic consultation with management.

You will be responsible for making system configurations (e.g. in combination with PV, charging stations and consumption) and support the preparation of business cases. In doing so, you act as a connecting link between customer, sales and engineering.

To advise customers properly, you will learn about the technical operation and applications of our energy storage systems. You will work intensively with engineers to ensure that you have a strong substantive position in customer discussions and internal knowledge sessions.

What a work day looks like? Sales Engineer is quite a varied job. One day you will accompany an account manager to the customer to convince them of our offered system. The next day you prepare a placement at a customer’s site, where you are responsible for the preparatory work around AC connections, compliance with laws and regulations, and related documentation. On other days, you are busy keeping your professional knowledge up to date; analyzing market and customer trends; answering specific customer questions and working with the account manager to build a relationship of trust between Intercel and the customer.

Your responsibilities in this role:

  • Liaison between customer, sales and engineering
  • Creation of ESS configurations (incl. PV, charging stations, consumption)
  • Giving internal training and product demos
  • Representing Intercel at (international) trade fairs
  • Preparation of competitive analyses
  • Advising on spatial application of our systems (PGS 37-1)
  • Improve documentation such as templates and calculation models
  • Liaise with suppliers on technical specifications

What do we offer?

  • A job for 32, 36 or 40 hours per week – you can specify what suits you best;
  • A good salary between €3,564 and €5,091 (gross per month based on a 40-hour work week);
  • Attractive benefits including a 24 vacation days, 8.5% vacation pay, laptop& phone and a good pension plan.
  • Advancement opportunities within your role and Intercel;
  • Full lunch every day, participating in boot camp and padel every week, closing out the week on Friday and toasting to successes and fun team & company outings.
  • And in addition, of course, the opportunity to contribute daily to the energy transition!

Who are you?

  • You have a completed technical education (hbo/wo), preferably in the direction of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy engineering, etc.;
  • You have at least 3 years of work experience in a technical role with a similar product (energy storage systems, battery technology or other renewable energy solution);
  • You are customer-oriented, communicatively strong and have excellent consulting skills;
  • You can easily translate complex technical information into understandable solutions for customers;
  • Good command of both Dutch and English in word and writing;
  • You work independently and proactively, with a pragmatic and customer-oriented approach.
