Field Service Engineer Battery Storage

As a Field Service Engineer at Intercel, you will work on state-of-the-art energy storage systems at customers’ sites. As a Field Service Engineer, you will work on Intercel’s energy storage systems. You will commission BESS installations and carry out maintenance and servicing at customer sites throughout the Netherlands and occasionally further afield in Europe. You will work with both hardware and software. You will use protocols such as CAN, Modbus TCP and RS485/RTU. Working safely is always a priority. You follow procedures and use PPE. On site, you are the point of contact for the customer.

You carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and resolve faults. For new installations, you handle the DC-side commissioning. Afterwards, you produce a clear report. You help build the Storage department. You share knowledge and help improve work processes.

Here’s a summary of what you’ll be doing:

• You’ll work on-site at the customer’s premises and carry out the commissioning of our battery cabinets. Maintenance and service are also part of your responsibilities.
• You’ll carry out diagnostic tests and provide the relevant documentation.
• You’ll work with various systems and communication protocols and carry out software updates where necessary.
• You will advise and train customers on the use and maintenance of their energy storage system.
• You will act as the point of contact for technical issues and liaise with engineering and production.
• As a senior technician, you will analyse and resolve faults and replace defective parts where necessary.

Who are you?

• You have a Level 3 or 4 MBO qualification in a technical field, preferably electrical engineering;
• You have at least a few years’ experience in a technical work environment, preferably with experience in a field-based role;
• You enjoy working on-site and don’t mind being on the road. For work, you will travel abroad a few times a year;
• You have a basic understanding of electrical installations, AC/DC systems, networks and battery technology. You can read electrical diagrams;
• You work in a structured and meticulous manner. You are safety-conscious and work in accordance with procedures and regulations;
• You communicate easily with customers and colleagues and take responsibility on site;
• You hold a Category B driving licence and have a good command of spoken and written English;
• Certificates such as VCA, NEN 3140 or knowledge of PGS 37-1 are an advantage, or you are willing to obtain them.
