About the position
For more than 35 years, Intercel has been a battery vendor and installer of UPS systems. A few years ago we added our manufacturing division, where we design and produce custom battery packs for industrial customers. In today’s electrification and with our sustainable application, Intercel is in a growth phase with our new unit Energy Storage Systems (ESS) developing rapidly.
To expand the sales team, we are looking for an account manager who is self-directed and proactive. You have experience in a commercial field sales role and are ready for the next step. Of course you will learn a lot from our other account managers and you will gain knowledge of our battery solutions, the applications, the market and its customers. Because this is a new unit within Intercel, you will enjoy being involved in finding & binding new customers. You will work a lot with inside sales, purchasing and engineering. Because of this, you will occasionally work at our office in Haarlem, but most of your time will be spent with customers. You are an indispensable link between our customers and partners.
Some of your duties include:
- You identify and approach potential customers, such as installers, EPC parties and service integrators.
- You will personally generate leads by using your own network, online research, LinkedIn, trade shows and events.
- You are regularly on the road presenting our solutions around energy storage to (potential) customers, including technical explanations of the energy storage systems.
- While demonstrating the benefits and functionalities of our products, you are good at making consultative sales.
- You draw up quotations yourself and ensure proper follow-up. You are able to negotiate terms and prices and can draft and conclude sales contracts.
- You can properly differentiate what is required by customer segment and type of person to take the next step in the sales process.
- You will ensure an accurate way of working to document customer data and interactions in the available systems. This so that you can track sales activities and results and report this during progress meetings if necessary.
You will increase Intercel’s market share, recognize opportunities and respond with an appropriate solution. You will gradually acquire knowledge of our products and you can always ask colleagues for this. More important is your commercial drive and responding to the needs of our customers.

Who are you?
- You have hbo working and thinking level;
- You have at least 5 years of experience in a commercial (field sales) position;
- You are in possession of driver’s license B;
- You are independent and we don’t need to teach you the account management profession.
- You enjoy working at our Haarlem office when you are not visiting a client;
- Interest and experience in engineering and/or the energy transition is a plus;
- Entrepreneurship/ownership characterizes your actions. You have the drive to always take that one extra step and be on the ball at short notice;
- You are communicatively strong, have commercial sense and recognize opportunities;
- You have an excellent command of both the Dutch and English languages.
