At Intercel, we know everything about batteries and energy storage. With over 35 years of experience, we have grown into the specialist in this field. With three different business units, we bring our cleantech products to market in various ways.
As an Account Manager at Intercel, you will specialize in one of the business units. We will discuss together during the application process which one suits you best. For all business units, the goal is to deliver the most suitable batteries to our customers. What makes this both fun and challenging? We work with companies across a wide range of sectors. Account Manager Batteries: In this role, you will work in Intercel’s trading division, supplying batteries and accessories across the Netherlands and Europe. You act as a specialist and advisor to our customers, helping them grow in their journey towards a greener business.
Account Manager Electrification: This division designs and manufactures custom-made batteries for electrifying diesel-powered machines. The sales process here requires technical insight into batteries and the energy transition. Our battery is part of the complete electrification of the machine, and you recognize the importance of involving different stakeholders.
Account Manager ESS: The ‘Energy Storage Systems’ (ESS) business unit aims to solve issues around grid congestion—a major challenge resulting from the energy transition. With our energy storage systems, we ensure companies continue to have sufficient (sustainable) power. In this role, you take the lead in relieving customers’ concerns and stay up to date with the latest laws and regulations.
An Account Manager at Intercel is self-directed and proactive. You have experience in a commercial field role and are ready for the next step in your career, bringing with you knowledge of battery technology. All business units work closely together, and depending on your division, you will also collaborate frequently with colleagues from procurement, engineering, inside sales, and logistics. This means that while you will occasionally work from our office in Haarlem, most of your time will be spent visiting customers. You are an indispensable link between our customers and partners.
Your responsibilities include:

Identifying and approaching potential customers, with the sector depending on the business unit you work in;

Generating leads through your own network, online research, LinkedIn, trade shows, and events, in addition to using provided tools and marketing;

Actively visiting (potential) customers to present our solutions;

Demonstrating the benefits and features of our products while selling in a consultative manner;

Preparing your own quotes and ensuring proper follow-up. You can negotiate terms and prices and are capable of drafting and closing sales contracts;

Adapting your approach to suit each customer segment and individual to progress the sales process;

Accurately documenting customer data and interactions in our systems, so that you can track your sales activities and results and report them when needed;

Growing Intercel’s market share by recognizing opportunities and offering the right solutions.
You will gradually build your knowledge of our products, and you can always consult colleagues if needed. More important is your commercial drive and ability to respond to customer needs.

Who you are

You have a bachelor’s degree level of working and thinking (HBO);

You have at least 5 years of experience in a commercial (field) role in an (electro)technical company and a strong affinity with the energy transition;

You hold a valid driver’s license (B);

You can work independently—account management is second nature to you;

You enjoy working from our Haarlem office when you’re not visiting customers;

Entrepreneurship and ownership define your way of working. You have the drive to go the extra mile and maintain a hands-on approach;

You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English.
